How Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Other Technology is Changing Our Future
1 LU

This panel brings to life the wide variety of ways that technology advances are changing the field of architecture and construction to dramatically enhance the design-build process and drive value. Innovations like artificial intelligence, blockchain, and virtual reality will provide bold new opportunities to improve the overall process of designing, planning, and constructing new buildings. We’ll explore how the constant pace of technology advancements will significantly change the way we create new buildings and developments, ultimately speeding up the process and providing a better user experience.

Dustin will moderate a panel of experts who will speak to novel technology advancements already in use to enhance the design-build process and what to expect on the horizon. Panelist will include:

Steve Bieugun is a virtual design manager at Pulse Design Group, which uses virtual and augmented reality to deliver enterprise software solutions and photo-realistic, real-time rendered environments.

Chris Callen launched Grit Virtual, a novel construction scheduler, to resolve scheduling challenges. It attacks project planning and management inefficiencies with centralized virtual planning, algorithmic scheduling, and a decentralized feedback loop to counter human biases and limited perspectives into project scheduling opportunities.

Stephen Bessette, construction subject matter expert, AutoDesk, has more than 15 years of experience in the design and construction industry, he is a graduate of the NHTI Architectural Engineering Technology program and a certified computer-aided draftsman. Stephen has instructed technical classes for AutoCAD software and its 3D functionalities at NHTI.

Learning Objectives:
1. Gain an overview of the latest technology available to help with the design-build process.
2. Understand how to use technology advancements to streamline efficiencies and drive value.
3. See how technology advancements enhance environments to improve occupant usability and comfort.
4. Leave with insight into how technology can dramatically enhance the ability to design for the future.
